Salehawk – Personvern / Privacy Policy

Salehawk ("we") helps you find the lowest price on a product across Norwegian online stores. This policy explains what data the Salehawk browser extension and the website salehawk.net handle, and what we do not do.

What the extension does

When you visit a product page on one of the supported retailers (Komplett, Elkjøp, Power, NetOnNet, CDON, Proshop, Dustin), the extension reads the product's name and identifier (GTIN/MPN/SKU, when present) and the price shown on the page. It sends the product name to our price-lookup API (api.salehawk.net) to check whether the same item is cheaper elsewhere, and shows you the result. The extension only runs on those retailer sites.

What we collect

• The product name/identifier you are viewing on a supported retailer page, sent to our API to perform the price lookup.
• Standard server request data (such as IP address and timestamp), which our server may log briefly to prevent abuse and rate-limit requests.

What we do NOT do

• No accounts, names, emails, or payment data.
• No tracking of your general browsing history — the extension activates only on the listed retailer product pages.
• We do not sell or share your data, and we do not serve ads.

Local storage

The most recent price results are cached locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) so the popup can display them. This stays on your device.

Website analytics

The website salehawk.net uses Microsoft Clarity for anonymous session analytics (to find bugs and improve the interface). This applies to the website only, not the extension. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

Third parties

• Microsoft Clarity (website analytics, website only).
• Product images are loaded directly from the retailers' own image servers.
